art in public space, Zurich, Switzerland

The city of Zurich sees art in public space as an important element of urban life. Whether the sculpture in the park, the art installation in a public square or the temporary work of artists in a neighborhood: public art shapes the cultural life of the city of Zurich.
Artistic interventions in public space create new reference points. You change the perspective of the urban space, thus enabling the population to rediscover their own city. Nowhere is the dialogue between art and the public works as immediate as in public spaces.
But public art also tells the story of the city of Zurich and accompanied their development in the future.
